Poon Dojo Schools of Martial Arts Excellence (PDSMAE) is a Professional Martial Arts Body, with the head quarters located in the heart of East London, Stratford. Poon Dojo was established in the mid nineties to preserve and continue the tradition of the Martial Arts; traditional Karate in Stratford.

Poon Dojo was formed to provide high quality teaching by professionals to all students irrespective of gender, race, creed etc. in a safe and supportive environment. A non profit and non political organisation which is student centred therefore accommodating the needs of the individual. We believe in working in partnership with parents therefore place great emphasis in reinforcing family values. As a Professional Martial Arts Body, Poon Dojo holds high the traditions of the Martial Arts which includes: respect, self discipline, etiquette etc.

All teachers of Poon Dojo are fully qualified and are CRB checked. Poon Dojo provides a 'Teaching programme' to all PDSMAE Teachers and Instructors based on the Founder's experience as a Lead Physical Education Tutor on a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Programme for Primary School Teachers in one of the UK's leading modern University. All Teachers receive CPD on a regular basis to ensure that standards are maintained. The make up of teachers and students reflect the multi diverse and International community that Poon Dojo is part of.

Poon Dojo is actively engaged in research which ensures the most up to date and innovative practice yet upholding the tradition of the Martial Arts which can be traced back to the 18th century.
